Waiting is frustrating, demoralizing, agonizing, aggravating, annoying, time consuming and incredibly expensive. --- Federal Express.
I realized that I am not the only person who gets annoyed when somebody is late. I've searched through the internet and I found a couple of souls who feel the same way as I do when somebody is crazily overdue for his appointment. And yes, they also feel disrespected.
I tried to remember the times that I was late. Yes, I do get late at times. Actually these days, it has become more often and I am scared that I'd turn out to be someone I hate.
Being late leaves an uneasy feeling. A feeling similar to cheating in an exam (Yes, I did cheat as well back in secondary school). It feels like you need to make up for what you've done but you wouldn't know exactly how. It's like it's irreversible.
That makes me wonder, how can other people be late most of the time if not all the time. Does doing it also create callouses to one's character (abstract things, yes, abstract things)? Probably yes, and then it becomes a habit. Then it's a good thing if it is a habit, because habits can be broken, if the person is willing enough to break it.
